Teresa E. Doniger is a family and grief therapist in private practice in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. She is a licensed professional counselor and holds active licenses in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Teresa’s education and training took place on both the west coast and east coast. She graduated in 2009 from Phillips Graduate Institute (now Phillips Graduate University) in Los Angeles with a master’s degree in psychology/marriage and family.


Teresa returned to her hometown, Washington, DC, in 2010 and spent two years working in community mental health. In 2012, she was the second therapist to join Renew Psychological Services, a group psychotherapy practice where she honed her skills working with young professionals. In 2016, Teresa established her first private psychotherapy practice, Cura Counseling, LLC. Teresa also spent four years (2017-2021) working with grief, loss and trauma survivors at the Wendt Center for Loss and Healing. In 2024, Teresa completed IPEC’s (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching) three module in-person certificate training program. She is now a Certified Professional Coach. Teresa is eager and excited to begin offering grief/loss/transition focused life coaching services and consultation in addition to psychotherapy services.
